Choosing a color scheme for your brand is a huge part of it’s development. The colors you pick should contribute a meaning to your branding. Often, we see the same colors being used for similar types of businesses.
Let’s take fast-food businesses, for example, there are two major color that are prominent in most of their logos: red and yellow. They use these colors because they each have their own meaning. Red means attention, and excitement, while yellow signifies happiness and friendliness. Those are all attributes that these restaurants want to reflect in their businesses.
When I work with a client, one of my first questions is to describe the feeling they want clients or customers to have when they think of their business. This is a great way to determine a color palate with the client.
Color is powerful and, when utilized properly, creates a clear and concise brand with major (unsaid) meaning!
So, what do the colors mean? Here’s a quick chart on how to pair up your colors to reflect the overall feeling of your business!
